I just started the 10 day cleanse. What are your thoughts about oatmeal for breakfast?
Healthy Girl
06. Oct, 2011
Oatmeal is allowable per the instruction sheet, but I personally have better results with hard boiled eggs in addition to the fruit midmorning.
Debrah Lopez
04. Oct, 2011
cheese and milk. Some recipes I have downloaded ask for milk and/or cheese.
Healthy Girl
04. Oct, 2011
@ Debrah
Look at the instructions for the 14 Day. For best results, would avoid the cheese. https://myluxeplans.com/program-instructions/

I am officially over with the 10-day cleanse tomorrow, but continue with the 24-day Challenge. Can I slowly introduce my body to minimal whole grain pasta, dairy products, coffee? Plus I got the portion control jotted down pretty well at this point.
Healthy Girl
04. Oct, 2011
@Debrah,
Stick with Spark, and you shouldn’t need coffee. Use brown rice instead of the pasta for best results. What dairy?
Mandy
03. Oct, 2011
hi there, when you say that you eliminate all wheat, is that brown rice?
Healthy Girl
04. Oct, 2011
@Mandy,
Brown rice in limited amount with dinner is okay.
Claire
02. Oct, 2011
On the 10 day cleanse, can you have multi-grain pasta or 5 grain flax Foldout flatbread? Thanks!
Healthy Girl
02. Oct, 2011
@Claire
Are you doing the full 24 Days?
Claire
02. Oct, 2011
No, just the cleanse.
Healthy Girl
02. Oct, 2011
Claire,
Our group eliminates all wheat, so no.

I’m on day 16 and I haven’t been hungry for dinner and sometimes not for lunch so I usually just get 1 real meal. What is something good to eat if I am not hungry during meal time??
Healthy Girl
01. Oct, 2011
@Sarah,
Strange that you are not hungry. Try hard boiled eggs, grilled chicken and some veggies. Look at the recipe section to see if something interests. you.

I am on day 1 of the cleanse and was looking for recommendations for a preworkout snack. I am at the gym at 5am. Are protein bars ok (30g of protein/ 270 cal)?
Healthy Girl
27. Sep, 2011
@Jennifer,
No protein bars now. You can use Advocare Meal Replacement and other bars after the 24 Day Challenge. We like hard boiled eggs with or without fruit. After the cleanse, you will have meal replacement shakes which will be great before or after your workout. Vanilla with frozen peaches in the magic bullet is my FAVE!

I am on Day 2 of the cleanse. I am finding myself hungry more than before. For lunch, I had a serving of baked salmon, asparagus, spinach, and cucumbers with a bottle of water. About forty minutes after, I was hungry. I snacked on about five bite-size Quaker rice cakes. Is feeling hungry often unusual?
Healthy Girl
26. Sep, 2011
@ Debrah,
Try drinking more water. Are you drinking Spark? That is not usual with the hunger. Did you have your breakfast/snack in the morning? If so, what did you eat?
Debrah Lopez
26. Sep, 2011
I had a Spark early in the morning…before the fiber and meal replacement. That was my breakfast. Mid-morning snack was a couple of bite-size rice cakes with water in between meals. Am I suppose to have a breakfast meal? I thought the meal replacement was my breakfast. I also had a Spark about 2 hours after lunch…needed an energy boost.
Healthy Girl
26. Sep, 2011
@ Debrah
Look at these directions. You are missing the fruit, hard boiled eggs. Try these instead of the rice cakes – hard boiled eggs, 100 calorie bag of raw almonds.
Chelsea
27. Sep, 2011
Try adding either more veggies or a little brown rice or quinoa to get some more fiber. The balance of healthy fats, protein, and fiber from veggies and whole grains will help keep you full longer. Since you reached for the rice cakes, those complex carbs are what your body may be missing. Also the fruit, eggs, and almond is a great suggestion and so much more substantial than the rice cakes!
Becky
26. Sep, 2011
I noticed in an early post from you that “your group” does NOT use the meal replacement shake until phase two however, the directions for the 24 day challenge on days one through 10 suggest that you drink that for breakfast?? I’m confused :-/ also, I’m on day 6 of the cleanse and instead of my energy going higher, I’m dragging…is this normal and will it spike back up where it needs to be?
Healthy Girl
26. Sep, 2011
Becky,
Some groups do use the shakes during cleanse. As explained before, we are eliminating dairy so don’t use them. Are you using Spark? How many?
Lisa
25. Sep, 2011
I didn’t think the Catalyst started until days 11-24. I’m on day 5. Should I start now?
Healthy Girl
25. Sep, 2011
Sure, you can start now.
Heather
23. Sep, 2011
I’m just curious about one thing. If the cleanse is about clean eating and getting rid of the crap in our diets, why is Walden Farms dressing suggested as an option? The ingredient list on bottles read like a chemistry lab. Small amounts of oil with vinegar or lemon juice would be a much better choice I would think.
Healthy Girl
24. Sep, 2011
@ Heather,
You are correct. That is what we recommend first. Some people balk at that and WF is a 2nd option that is made of mostly vinegar and water.
Annie
22. Sep, 2011
Can I have Sushi during the 14 day period of the 24 day challenge? When I say Sushi I mean Tuna, Salmon or Yellow Tail Sashimi (raw fish), with no rice.
Healthy Girl
22. Sep, 2011
@Annie,
Sashimi is fine, but wouldn’t do soy sauce.
Ann
22. Sep, 2011
Can I drink decaff coffee? I am on Day 7 of the 24 day.
Healthy Girl
22. Sep, 2011
@Ann,
Use Spark, water and decaf tea.
Kim
20. Sep, 2011
When is the best time to take the Thermoplus and the Omegaplex during the 10 day cleanse?
Healthy Girl
20. Sep, 2011
ThermoPlus is for after the cleanse. Take half hour before a meal when you take catalyst. Omegaplex is to be taken WITH a meal.
Nichol
20. Sep, 2011
This is a strange question but since my freezer is full of it I need to ask.. I am a country girl and we eat alot of venison. It is very lean. The burger we use has little fat. Is this ok to use after the cleanse? I am an avid Atkins dieter and the eating habbits with Advocare are very similiar.
Healthy Girl
20. Sep, 2011
Small portions should be fine, but I wouldn’t have it every day. ๐
Delaney Farmer
13. Sep, 2011
While on the cleanse, can I continue to take my multivitamins? What about after the cleanse on day 11-23?
Healthy Girl
13. Sep, 2011
Delaney,
Should be okay, but not once you start the 14 Day (MNS) since vitamins are included with that.
JJ
12. Sep, 2011
I ate wheat bread during the cleanse, and still got positive results. Lost 4 lbs and inches off the waist. Does it just vary for some people? I did have intense workouts on a daily basis.
Healthy Girl
13. Sep, 2011
@JJ
Glad you got results, but the purpose of the cleanse and elimination of certain items is to break negative food habits and addictions (chocolate, beer, bread, etc), & allow for a new beginning with normalized taste buds. The program keeps carbohydrates in check, which keeps insulin levels low, which minimizes fat storage and encourages your body to properly burn fat.
JJ
13. Sep, 2011
If I completely stayed away from minimal wheat bread, do you think the results would have been better? I’m just curious so I know exactly what i’m doing the next time i do the cleanse in about 3-4 months. This was a bit of a trial run for me, to try something new to help me get over my hump and it worked! I also feel more energized during my workouts.
Healthy Girl
13. Sep, 2011
@JJ,
Try a clean cleanse in 90 days. Bet you will be pleased with the results.
stacey
14. Sep, 2011
I’ve also eaten whole grain wheat bread while on the cleanse. I’ve still gotten great results. However, I am curious if peanut butter is acceptable as a protein?
Healthy Girl
19. Sep, 2011
Peanut butter should be natural only with no sugar added as small snack. Limit since lots of calories. Use lean proteins like fish, chicken, turkey. Also hard boiled eggs.
DP
12. Sep, 2011
One more question, i chew gum alot. Will this affect anything?
Healthy Girl
13. Sep, 2011
@ DP
Eliminate gum on the 24 Day or Cleanse.
Dp
11. Sep, 2011
Can you have pineapples or gatorade while doing 10 day cleanse?
Healthy Girl
12. Sep, 2011
DP,
Try the fruits recommended in our list, and no Gatorade – use Spark.
Ginger
05. Sep, 2011
I understand that a big part of this program is drinking plenty of water. Is it OK to add Crystal Light to the water I drink, or drink Propel. Both are caffeine free, and calorie free, but do have sucralose. They also offer additional vitamins
Healthy Girl
07. Sep, 2011
Ginger,
Water and Spark!
ange
08. Sep, 2011
Is it ok to drink seltzer water instead of regular water?
Healthy Girl
08. Sep, 2011
@Ange That is fine.
Ginger
02. Sep, 2011
Please explain the benefits of using Catalyst and Therrmoplus
Healthy Girl
03. Sep, 2011
@Ginger
Catalyst helps maintain muscle mass during exercise & weight management.
ThermoPlus supports the body’s ability to convert fat into energy, promotes a healthy metabolism and helps suppress appetite.
Amber
02. Sep, 2011
Why no wheat on the cleanse. Just curious…
Healthy Girl
03. Sep, 2011
The 10 day cleanse regimen helps break negative food habits and addictions (chocolate, beer, bread, etc), & allows for a new beginning with normalized taste buds. The program keeps carbohydrates in check, which keeps insulin levels low, which minimizes fat storage and encourages your body to properly burn fat.

Whats your thought on coconut water.
Healthy Girl
30. Aug, 2011
@ Delaney,
Suggest plain water or water with Spark as directed.
Delaney
04. Sep, 2011
Thank you – but out of curiosity, why? What is in it that is not good for you that can alter the plan. All natural, and can probably satisfy the sweet tooth after a meal. I understand that water is always your answer – but just curious why its not recommended. Thanks for your time though – ๐
Healthy Girl
07. Sep, 2011
Delaney,
Coconut water is said to have sugar and high sodium levels. Sticking with water and Spark is the way to go.
cynthia
26. Aug, 2011
What kind of dressing for salads do you suggested? Not sure if I can handle a dry salad and Cesar dressing is my favorites.
Healthy Girl
26. Aug, 2011
@Cynthia,
A little oil with vinegar works or try the Walden Farms zero calorie dressings – they do have Caesar flavor.
Sarah
25. Aug, 2011
Are any types of decaf teas okay?
Healthy Girl
26. Aug, 2011
We prefer to see mostly Spark and water for best results, but plain decaf tea with nothing added should be okay. No diet products or anything with caffeine.
Amy
22. Aug, 2011
Can you have any ketchup or sauces on the 10 day cleanse? Also, you CAN have boiled eggs?
Healthy Girl
22. Aug, 2011
@Amy,
No ketchup or sauces. Enjoy the natural flaors of food. Look at our meal suggestions and recipes for added ideas
Jeanne
20. Aug, 2011
Jeanne again:
Sorry one more question: Can I put the fiber drink in with a meal replacement shake for breakfast and then have fruit or must the fiber drink be separate.
Thanks.
Jeanne
Healthy Girl
22. Aug, 2011
@ Jeanne,
our group does not use the meal replacement shakes until after the cleanse.
Jeanne

Am starting my first 10 day cleanse tomorrow. Party tonight so no sense in shooting myself in the foot before I even get going.
Wanted to know how others felt during their 10 days of cleansing. Not sure if I will do the full 24 as vacation is during that time; but will continue to eat low fat/lean meats and increase veggies and fruits.
Thanks.

I found a few recipes on the Internet that I’m excited to try. They all contain a list of vegetables as the ingredients but some other ingredients include soy milk and almond milk, lemon and lime juice. Just wanted to make sure these things were compliant with the 10day cleanse/24 day challenge as I am wanting to follow it to a T! Thanks!
Healthy Girl
18. Aug, 2011
Kelsey,
I would wait until after the 10 day cleanse. Let us know if they turn out positive when you try them.

18. Aug, 2011
can you have shrimp and catfish. bought frozen from grocery store?
Healthy Girl
18. Aug, 2011
@Ginny
IT depends on how you plan to cook. Not fried or breaded.

16. Aug, 2011

Can you eat hummus with 85mg of sodium per serving during the cleansing process? Im having a really hard time with the cleansing and Im only on day 2. What can I have on the veggies at lunch and dinner?
Healthy Girl
14. Aug, 2011
@Debbie Hummus is a good complex carb, and you can use on all phases. Look at our recipes and meal suggestions.
Ash
07. Aug, 2011
Can you have 100% whole grain bread? Two slices a day?
Healthy Girl
07. Aug, 2011
@ Ash,
No wheat on the cleanse. You could have 1 piece on the 2nd phase if needed.
Krystle
29. Jul, 2011
So you can eat tuna fish during the first 10 days? Does it have to be plain or can you put something in it?
Healthy Girl
31. Jul, 2011
You can use a small amount of mayo – we suggest Hellman’s canola mayo. You can also use a Walden zero calorie salad dressing. The Walden Farms coleslaw dressing works well.
Crystal
23. Jul, 2011
Starting the 24 day Challenge. I am a vegetarian.. Is there anytime you can eat dairy or yogurt?
Healthy Girl
24. Jul, 2011
Crystal,
You can add this back if necessary after the cleanse. Best to stick with eggs and soy. Will be doing a post soon about this.
Tina
18. Jul, 2011
I have only lost about 4 pounds on the cleanse and have been pretty compliant. Is there something I can do as I start day 10 tomorrow?
Healthy Girl
18. Jul, 2011
@ Tina. 4 pounds is good (not sure how much you need to lose and everyone is different). Some people lose more during the next phase. Are you using catalyst? Do you have Muscle Gain to use during the next phase?
